Webinars on Peer Support and PAX Tools for Parent Peer Specialists

Peer Support: A Critical Component in Supported Housing Friday, January 26, 2018 | 2–3 p.m. Eastern Time
SAMHSA invites you to join a TA Coalition webinar with the National Council for Behavioral Health addressing the importance of including peer support in traditional mental and substance use services. This webinar will explore peer support within housing models and strategies to effectively include and implement the role. Scientific evidence suggests that adding peer support to behavioral health services decreases substance use, reduces psychiatric hospitalization, improves social functioning, and increases the likelihood of stabilization, well-being, and recovery. There is also a growing body of evidence that the addition of peer support within housing services, when implemented effectively, results in stronger engagement, decreased symptoms, and increased self-efficacy and independence.
