Last chance: Call Congress and fight for funding

Now is your final chance. Call Congress today and ask for more funding. We need your help. Congress is moving forward to finalize the FY17 budget. This includes funding for McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Programs. Take five minutes today and call your members of Congress. Ask them to approve funding that would allow communities to house 40,000 more homeless people than this year. Also ask them to sign on to Dear Colleague letters circulating this week to increase homeless assistance funding in the FY18 budget. To assist communities in preparing for the submission, The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has developed a training on the process of submitting their System Performance Measure reports in the Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX). Now Accepting Nominations for the 2017 SAMHSA Voice Awards Focused on America's Military and Veterans SAMHSA's Voice Awards honor people in recovery and their family members who are community champions seeking to improve the lives of people with mental illnesses and addictions. The Voice Awards also recognize television and film productions that educate the public about behavioral health and showcase that recovery is real and possible. The 2017 SAMHSA Voice Awards is putting the spotlight on individuals and entertainment productions that provide hope and support to those past and present service members who have faced mental health and addiction challenges.
