Resources and assistance to support HUD's community partners Register Today: CARES Act Response Intensive Workshops – July 2020 The recent emergence of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) calls for enhanced cooperation between public health authorities, homeless service systems, and other partners at the local level. To support these partnerships and the vulnerable households served, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act in March of 2020. The bill includes $4 billion for homeless assistance, to be distributed through the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program. HUD is providing technical assistance (TA) to recipients to help strategically plan and utilize this influx of funding. HUD is offering intensive five-week workshops run by expert TA providers.
