The FY 2017 CoC Program Competition is Now Open

The Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition has been posted to the FY 2017 CoC Program Competition: Funding Availability page on the HUD Exchange. Submission Deadline: Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 8:00 PM EDT The electronic application in e-snaps will be available on or after next Tuesday, July 18, 2017. HUD strongly encourages CoCs, Collaborative Applicants, project applicants, and stakeholders to: Carefully and thoroughly read the FY 2017 CoC Program Competition NOFA to understand the information; and   Begin to plan local competitions based on information, new and changed from the previous Competition, provided in the FY 2017 CoC Program Competition NOFA. CSBG Annual Report Training "Save the Date"

Good Afternoon, Please save the date Thursday, September 7, 2017 . The training will focus on Modules 2-4 of the CSBG Annual Report. The training will provide guidance on the collection of agency level data and are based on the State CSBG Reporting Period. Data collection for the full CSBG Annual Report starts in  FY18.  This means agency data collection for Modules 2-4 will start based on the State CSBG Reporting Period, (October 2017-September 2018). The first complete submission of the CSBG Annual Report is due  March 31, 2019 . We strongly encourage your staff to participate who are responsible for completing CSBG Information Survey. More details will be provided soon.

Summary: This notice announces HUD's intention to develop a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Disabled and Low-Income Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program, which was authorized by the Carl Levin and Howard P. "Buck" McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 and funded by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016. The NOFA will announce the availability of up to $5.7 million to be competitively awarded through grants of up to $1 million each. The webinar will review key tips and participants will be able to ask questions regarding the using the eCon Planning Suite to develop a CAPER. This webinar will focus on the process and requirements for setting up and completing a CAPER/PER in the eCon Planning Suite template in Integrated Disbursement and Information System (IDIS), using the Con Plan Goals and Accomplishments Report and troubleshooting common issues in the eCon Planning Suite. SNAPS In Focus: The New Joint Transitional Housing and Rapid Re-Housing Component

In the Registration Notice for the FY 2017 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition, we announced that communities could apply for a new type of project that combines the activities of a transitional housing project with those of a rapid re-housing project. We will provide more details about this joint component project when the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) is published, but in the meantime I want to explain the purpose of the joint component project and how we will expect these projects to operate. Joint component projects are not intended to replace transitional housing projects that have been reallocated or lost funding in recent years. Instead, they provide a new way to meet some of the pressing challenges that communities are facing. They provide a safe place for people to stay – crisis housing – with financial assistance and wrap around supportive services determined by program participants to help them move to permanent housing as quickly as possible.
