IMMEDIATE GRANT OPPORTUNITY - Permanent Supportive Housing Program

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT NOTICE:  BALTIMORE COUNTY IS SEEKING A VENDOR FOR THE OPERATION OF A PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN For the past 5 years, the YWCA Greater Baltimore has partnered with the County to provide Permanent Supportive Housing to chronically homeless women in southwestern Baltimore County.  Using federal funds, the building, once known as the Eleanor D. Corner House Shelter, was renovated to provide 13 efficiency apartments, along with a common living room, a laundry room and a staff office.  Unfortunately, the YWCA has advised the County that they are no longer in a position to operate the Permanent Supportive Housing Program, and therefore, do not wish to renew their grant agreement.  As a result, the County is interested in seeking a new provider to acquire the facility and to continue the operation of the program. An informational meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 th  at 1:00 p.m. at the Baltimore County Planning Office, 105

As you may know, Maryland has seen a recent increase in homeless youth who are not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian and who are between the ages of 14 and 25. To address this growing concern, the Interagency Council on Homelessness has created the Housing and Supportive Services for Young Adults Workgroup which works to develop sound and effective policy recommendations that address the unique needs of youth experiencing homelessness. We are asking that you take a few minutes to respond to a survey by  Friday, May 20, 2016 . The survey results will help the workgroup understand how your Continuum of Care organization delivers services to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. Survey link:  http://goo.gl/forms/eR51 Ye0qfF The survey results will be used to make policy recommendations by the Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH) to the Joint Legislative Committee on Ending Homelessness to enhance service delivery and collaboration across system
