January 9, 2015 Sign Organizational Sign-On Letter for Non-Defense Discretionary Funding The Alliance, along with its national partners, is circulating an organizational sign-on letter urging lawmakers to replace sequestration with a balanced approach to deficit reduction that does not disproportionately hurt non-defense discretionary (NDD) programs. This broad array of programs includes homeless assistance and affordable housing programs, as well as community development, job training, public health, national park, and scientific research programs, among others. Sign on today to prevent unfair budget caps and sequestration from taking place in fiscal year (FY) 2016.  Sequestration cuts in FY 2016 would reduce the capacity of HUD programs and have devastating impacts on the vulnerable people they serve, and would be a major impediment in our work to end homelessness...
