Hello All, At the BCCH annual meeting we mentioned one of our volunteers, Jennifer Cox who works with the children in a few of the homeless shelters, was nominated for CNN Hometown Heroes. DOL-VETS Announces $43.3 Million in HVRP Grant Awards Grants to help more than 21,000 veterans overcome homelessness, obtain employment WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Labor announced the award of $43.3 million in Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program grants. The grants will help an estimated 21,000 veterans successfully reintegrate into the competitive workforce. HUD has published a Coordinated Entry Guidebook , focusing on the four core elements of Access , Assessment , Prioritization , and Referral . The Guidebook covers basic requirements and advanced considerations for each core element. This Guidebook is intended to be a comprehensive tool for CoCs that are designing and implementing coordinated entry. The Guidebook also is intended for CoCs that have already made significant progress in planning coordinated entry, as well as those that have already implemented it. CoCs should use the Guidebook as a reference to ensure their coordinated entry process complies with all of HUD’s requirements. HUD’s Office of Environment and Energy recommends that Responsible Entity staff involved in environmental reviews attend regular training on HUD environmental reviews that is provided by HUD's field environmental officers or sponsored by HUD. Environmental review training is offered by HUD in all regions annually free of charge . HUD has not provided approved training content on environmental reviews to technical assistance providers apart from training sponsored by HUD’s Office of Native American Programs. Therefore, the quality or accuracy of the training provided by privately operating entities cannot be guaranteed. To find out when environmental training is available in each region, contact the local HUD field environmental officer . The CPD Funding Matrix and Dashboard Reports , as of June 12, 2017, have been posted to HUD Exchange. These reports provide funding information for each city and state that receive CPD program funds, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Continuum of Care (CoC), Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), HOME, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), and Housing Trust Fund (HTF). Reports detail the size of each grant received over the past several years, as well as the total amount of funds currently available to be spent on affordable housing and community and economic development activities.
