  3. Save the Date for the July 17 Webinar: Legal Services 101

Call for Video Entries
We are starting an exciting new media project and are hoping you all will take part in it!  Regional Coordinators have noticed that many grantees have innovative practices and creative approaches that enhance your program's impact out in the field.  We want to capture examples of this kind of unique innovation.  The program office is issuing a Call for Video Entries on Field Practice Innovations for grantees to create five minute, simple videos that illustrate one of your favorite innovations.  Examples might be: (1) a video about a special recognition technique for landlord champions, or (2) a video about a social media campaign that has worked for rural outreach, or (3) other innovative practices that you are implementing.  The video flyer, which includes submission instructions and the deadline, and VA media release form are attached.

SSVF University Survey
In November 2013, the SSVF Program Office and VA's SSVF Technical Assistance providers (TAC and Abt Associates) launched the SSVF University – a collection of program information, guidance, and training resources for grantees.  The Program Office is currently working on enhancements to SSVF U and would like your input on how to make the website work better for you.  Please take the time to complete this anonymous survey by Friday, June 27.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2GTQ37Q

Save the Date for July 17 Webinar: Legal Services 101
Many of our Veterans and their families face legal issues that directly impact their housing stability.  Therefore, grantees are encouraged to provide legal services (directly or via referral) for those Veterans in need.   In order to assist with this type of service provision, the SSVF Program Office is launching an SSVF Legal Services Webinar Series to provide guidance and consultation on the topic.   In the first webinar of the series, SSVF Legal Services 101, participants will learn about the types of services that can be provided and how to effectively communicate with their legal providers.  The webinar will also focus on the issue of child support.  A registration link will be provided in the upcoming weeks.

Regards,

The SSVF Program Office
