Alliance to Screen Documentary 'Lost Angels' at Conference

Alliance Publishes 'Research Agenda to End Homelessness'


On the second day of the Alliance's 2014 National Conference on Ending Homelessness at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel in Washington, DC, conference attendees will have a chance to attend a free screening of "Lost Angels," a documentary film about life on Skid Row. The film covers the history of the area of Los Angeles, notorious for its poverty, and chronicles the lives of its low-income and homeless residents and efforts by the city to revitalize the neighborhood. The film will screen at 4:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 30, in the Mt. Vernon room. DVDs of the film will be available for purchase for $10 during the conference.
Conference Reminder: Cancellations Deadline
Should you need to cancel your conference registration, please note that the Alliance will deduct a $25 cancellation fee and a $100 processing fee from refunds issued in response to cancellation requests received before Monday, July 14. Please send your cancellation requests by email to Susan Nich, by fax to 202-638-4664, or by mail to National Alliance to End Homelessness, 1518 K Street, NW, Second Floor, Washington, DC 20005. After Monday, July 14, no refunds for cancellations will be issued.





On June 4, First Lady Michelle Obama announced the announced the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness by 2015, a nationwide challenge with the commitment of 77 mayors at the time of the announcement. Now the Alliance has published a resource meant for mayors who have signed on to the challenge. "Five High Impact Steps" lays out the five key tasks that mayors should undertake to achieve the goal of ending homelessness in their cities, and provides numerous links to helpful resources on the Alliance's website and elsewhere.
