FY 2013 Annual Report
The Program Office is excited to announce the recent publishing of the FY 2013 SSVF Annual Report.  This report covers the second year of operations for SSVF Program and includes awards made for services from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013. The information presented in this report summarizes the results of the 151 grantees funded for FY 2013 to inform Congress and the public about the important work of SSVF grantees in helping to prevent and end homelessness among our nation's Veterans.  You can view the report on the SSVF webpage at www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf.asp.

Veteran Participant Survey Reminder
The Program Office would like to take this time to remind grantees that paper surveys are no longer accepted for data collection.   Instead, SSVF grantees must meet the survey distribution requirements using an electronic method supported by TruthPoint.  In mid-December, SSVF Regional Coordinators sent grantees an individual web link and instructions for distributing the electronic survey.  As has been done for the last three years, Veterans will be invited to provide feedback to VA at two points during the time they are receiving SSVF services from your organization.  The first time will be within 45 days of the Veteran household beginning to receive supportive services from your organization, and the second invitation will be within 30 days of receiving their final services from your organization.  Grantees must register Veterans, using the web link provided in December, at both points of time.  Once the Veteran is registered, the electronic survey will be emailed automatically to the Veteran. Please note that only the Veterans email address is required for survey registration.  If the Veteran does not have an email address, the SSVF Program Office encourages grantees to work with the Veteran to establish an email account.  Please contact the Regional Coordinator if you have questions.
Veteran Access to Care Survey
The Program Office would like to assess the number of grantees with SSVF clients who may be experiencing VA Medical Center access issues, such as getting appointments for primary health care or mental health care.  Please complete this brief survey no later than 6PM Eastern time on Thursday, July 10th.   https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CG82PNV

SSVF SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Survey (Mandatory)
In December, the SSVF Program Office hosted a national webinar on SOAR for grantees. Since that time, grantees have actively become engaged by providing SOAR services or referring Veteran households to SOAR programs. Through SOAR, Veteran households have accessed benefits and increased income. The Program Office is pleased with grantees' work and wants to better understand SOAR implementation at the community level.  Therefore, the SSVF Program Office is seeking input from each grantee. Grantees are asked to complete one survey per grant award by July 15th. This survey is mandatory.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SSVFSOAR

What's New on SSVF U
Subcontractor Identification and Management Training is now available on SSVF University at http://www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf/index.asp?page=/program_requirements/subcontractor_management.  A copy of the presentation is attached for your convenience and the video version will be posted in the upcoming weeks.

Congrats to CARF and COA Accredited Grantees
The Program Office would like to take this opportunity to offer our congratulations to SSVF grantees who have demonstrated their commitment to deliver high quality services by their successful accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Council on Accreditation!  You can view the list of accredited grantees on the SSVF webpage at www.va.gov/homeless/ssvf.asp.

Many of our Veterans and their families face legal issues that directly impact their housing stability.  Therefore, grantees are encouraged to provide legal services (directly or via referral) for those Veterans in need.   In order to assist with this type of service provision, the SSVF Program Office is launching an SSVF Legal Services Webinar Series to provide guidance and consultation on the topic.   In the first webinar of the series, SSVF Legal Services 101, participants will learn about the types of services that can be provided and how to effectively communicate with their legal providers.  The webinar will also focus on the issue of child support.
