REMINDer: Today and Tomorrow are National Call-In Days
As a reminder TODAY, September 15 and TOMORROW, September 16 are National Call-In Days! During these days, advocates will call their congressional offices about the importance of raising the federal sequester spending caps and providing a $345 million increase for McKinney programs in FY 2016. The Alliance is coordinating these call-in days with Caps Hurt Communities, an advocacy campaign committed to ending the federal sequester spending caps.

TODAY and TOMORROW, between 9am-5pm EST, participating advocates from across the country will call their members of Congress by dialing the Congressional switchboard at 877-210-5351. They should deliver this simple message: raise the federal sequester spending caps to robustly fund affordable housing programs and provide $2.480 billion for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants program in FY 2016.

$2.480 billion for homeless assistance programs would help us end chronic homelessness by the end of 2017 and make significant reductions among other populations. Even in another difficult budget year, Congress should be working to ensure that we help those who are most in need.

Be sure to call your Members of Congress TODAY and TOMORROW as part of National Call-In Days, and let Jaime Colman or Julie Klein know which offices you called and what the responses were!
