Celebrate Recovery Month With Two Upcoming Events
Celebrating 25 Years: Recovery Perspectives on the ADA and Other Landmark Legislation
Thursday, September 17, 2015 | 1–2:30 p.m. Eastern Time
Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy will host a webinar honoring the rich history of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and other antidiscrimination laws to advance awareness of their relevance to individuals with behavioral health conditions. The webinar also will provide information about other critical legal protections.
Webinar participants will be able to:
  • Describe key protections of the ADA and other antidiscrimination legislation.
  • Explain from case examples how legislative protections can be applied to a variety of situations.
  • Identify resources for accessing additional information and advocacy or legal assistance.

Recovery Month at the White House: Young and in Recovery
Thursday, September 17, 2015 | 7–8 p.m. Eastern Time
The Office of National Drug Control Policy is hosting an online event at the White House in celebration of National Recovery Month with a special focus on youth in recovery.
A group of dynamic leaders in the youth recovery movement will participate in an online panel to educate, inform, and inspire a message of hope to youth in recovery or those not yet in recovery. The event will feature tweets with questions for panelists who are in recovery.
