SSVF Program Update: April 15, 2016

Hi Team,

I hope that you had a great weekend. This is the latest program update from Friday. Please review in detail; it has very important information.  In addition to the information in the Program Update, these are a few important dates for this week.

1. Wednesday, April 20th: Quarterly Certification Due
-Please remember that the requirement is attached to the staff member with was listed as the GIFTS account holder on your resolution.
-They can transfer the requirement to another staff member, but they have to log in first, locate the requirement, and then transfer it.
-You won't be able to access the requirement after the due date so prompt submissions are key.

2. Wednesday, April 20th: Region B Call at 1:30PM
-We are using a new software, GoToWebinar, instead of Zoom. Please make sure you have the information.
-All grantees are required to have at least one person participate in the webinar.

3. Thursday, April 21st: SSVF National Webinar at 2pm
-Registration Link:  https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5790259502770746114

Thanks for all of your patience last week with my technology issues last week. If you need something, please use my new email address Adrienne.nashmelendez@va.gov.  IT still has my blackberry so I am unable to receive voicemails/take calls on it. I will keep you posted as soon as I have it back. In the meantime, email is the best, and then we can always set up a call if it would be helpful.

Lastly, I will be in meetings all day tomorrow (Tuesday) and most of Wednesday so I may not be as quick with responses on those days.

Thanks so much!

Adrienne

Quarterly Certifications Now Available in GIFTS – Due April 20, 2016

Beginning this fiscal year, the SSVF Program Office no longer requires Quarterly Narrative and Financial Report submissions.  In place of this reporting grantees are expected to complete a Quarterly Certification.  This month's certification will cover the time period of 10/1/2015 – 3/31/2015 (note: Q1 & Q2).  The certification covers multiple SSVF program requirements including: compliance with the final rule, grant agreement, data quality criteria, staff training, and fiscal management.  PDF version of the requirement form is attached for your awareness (please do not submit this PDF to the Program Office).  Submissions are due no later than April 20th via the GIFTS grants management system.
NOTE:  If your agency did not receive Data Quality reports from the Repository this month, please respond to the data section of the Quarterly Certification based on information you have received over the duration of Q1 and Q2.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Council on Accreditation (COA) will present an overview of the accreditation process and standards.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

RRH Waiver Request Process Update

As reviewed on the SSVF National Webinar on January 21, 2016, SSVF grantees may wish to request a RRH Waiver for the current grant cycle.  All grantees that were approved for a "Prevention Waiver" in previous grant cycles need to re-apply using the new online GIFTS database process. RRH Waiver requests must be submitted May 31, 2016. This is a community-wide strategic request that should be submitted only after coordinating with your relevant community stakeholders. In addition, a COC endorsement is required for each request. To initiate the process please review with your Regional Coordinator to have a preliminary discussion about the need for a RRH Waiver and the process for submission.

If you have any questions, please contact your Regional Coordinator.
