Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Food Distribution Coordinator manages the agency’s food warehouse operations and is responsible for all daily operations of the pantry warehouse including the distribution of food and household products; completion of client documentation; supervision of pantry staff and volunteers; coordinating special projects with community agencies and groups; ordering food and supplies; coordinating deliveries; timely submission of reports; and sharing resources with pantry clients. This position also serves as the safety officer for the main office and all operations based there.  The Food Distribution Coordinator reports to the Director of Services and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Essential Duties:
·         Must be available during food packaging and distribution periods.
·         Coordinate and/or transport donations to outreach centers, shelters, and community organizations.
·         Monitor donations, complete forms, conduct client and community surveys, and maintain records according to donations policies and procedures.
·         Schedule and supervise pantry staff and volunteers.
·         Coordinate all food pickups and maintain inventory controls.
·         Manage client food distribution including monitoring of HMIS data input.
·         Pursue new donation, grant, and funding opportunities for the pantry program.
·         Administer mailings of thank you letters and other correspondence relating to pantry donations.
·         Ensure compliance with all MD State and OSHA safety and health for the main office and warehouse.
·         Manage the CAN vehicle fleet including the maintenance of records necessary for DOT compliance.
·         Perform safety trainings and evaluations for all CAN drivers and main office personnel.
·         Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, community partners and the public conducting oneself professionally accordance with the “Community Action Code of Ethics”.
·         Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.  Five years human service experience may be substituted for college degree.
·         Strong interpersonal, organizational and inventory management.
·         Knowledge of community resources and demonstrated networking ability.
·         Exceptional customer service focus.
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·         Ability to meet deadlines and work in high pressure environment.
·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and Office 365.
·         Capability to develop, conduct, and/or coordinate trainings [safety, OSHA, CPR, etc.].  
·         Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation required.  Class A, B or CDL preferred.
·         BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
