Important Product Updates To Ring In the New Year!
Happy New Year, 2018!
All of us here at the Housing and Community Services Division of Mediware want to wish each of you a very Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season with friends and family. It is an exciting time of new beginnings as we welcome in 2018. Our chief resolution this year is to increase the frequency and quality of our communications to you. So, we wanted to start off this year with some exciting updates on the product development front.
We will be releasing a major update to Qlik Sense the week of January 23, 2018. We have spent the last three months working with members of Qlik's Technical Services team to ensure that Qlik Sense enforces ServicePoint's data visibility model. This release will allow us to let ServicePoint users with Access Levels lower than System Administrator II access Qlik Sense. Since many of you will still need to develop reports for your users, we are limiting access to just those users who have an ART Ad Hoc User License at this time. More details about this release will be provided the week of January 23rd.
We intend to release another update to Qlik Sense for ServicePoint 5 at the end of February 2018. That release is intended to address the following known issues:
  • Display Assessment and Sub-Assessment questions in a more user-friendly format
  • Display Assessment values valid at various points in time, e.g. values as of Entry (Project Start Date) or Exit
  • Correctly link Worksheet Question responses to their respective record types, e.g. Service Worksheet questions linked to the Need Service Id
In other product development news, we are pleased to announce that as part of a company-wide initiative, we have fully adopted a Scrum-based Agile software development process across all product lines. Our entire team completed training in November and we've completed our first few Sprints. This approach is designed to provide shorter periods of time to deliver product updates, and provide valuable product iterations as early and often as possible. What this means for our customers is that you will see quicker turnaround on high priority development activities.
As with adopting any new methodology, we will be ironing out the wrinkles over the next several 2-week Sprints to determine the velocity with which we are able to complete product development tasks. We are still working toward a Spring timeline for our initial release of ServicePoint 6 and will be providing at least monthly updates as we continue our progress.
We hope you all have a great start to 2018! We look forward to a great year serving you!
