For aging caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preparing for their loved-one's future is a constant focus and worry. In a video conversation, Catalina Sanchez, a grandmother and caregiver, addresses the concerns and hopes she has for her grandson, John. She has spent many sleepless nights wondering who would look after him when she is gone. How he would make it on his own? As Catalina learns more about supportive housing, she is comforted by the stability and services it offers, and realizes it will permit John to live independently and thrive. Hear Catalania and John tell their stories in our new video created with the support of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities.
