Job Title        Director of Programs and Case Management

General Purpose
This position will oversee all aspects of the programs to provide support and resources to families with children and unaccompanied young adults who are experiencing homelessness.  The incumbent is a key member of the senior management team and provides supervision to professional case management staff.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of the programs to include:
  • Developing new programs to meet the needs of clients
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of existing programs
  • Reporting on the success and challenges of existing programs
  • Insuring that all programs comply with existing laws, regulations, best practices
  • Insuring that all programs stay within budget
  • Provide supervision to case management staff
  • Maintain all client records in HMIS
  • Update and maintain all program related forms
  • Stay abreast of all current trends and changes in homelessness
  • Participate as an active member of the senior management team to provide strategic direction to the overall organization
  • Provide information, reports and resources to the Director of Development for the submission of grant requests, grant reports, newsletters and other external communications
  • Work with the Director of Facilities to coordinate the movement of families and individuals in and out of program housing units
  • Develop speaking opportunities in Harford County Schools
  • Assist CEO with speaking engagements
  • Work with Development Assistant to coordinate and communicate about program related volunteer activities and opportunities
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations to meet the needs of HFH families and individuals
  • Serve as the liaison between HFH and the Harford County Schools and between HFH and the Harford County Continuum of Care
  • Represent Harford Family House at resource fairs, seminars, luncheons, etc. as requested
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization

Education and Training
BS in Social Work or closely related field
LBSW, LCSW or LCSW-C preferred

Knowledge and Experience
10 years experience in program/case management in progressively responsible roles
5 years experience in supervisory role
Knowledge of Fair Housing standards and regulations
Experience working with low income individuals/families
Budget development experience preferred

Working Conditions
Standard office working conditions.  Some weekend and evening work required.  Some work will be conducted off site
