2019 NHSDC/HUD Spring Conference – Nashville, TN – April 15-17
HUD’s Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS) is excited to collaborate with the National Human Services Data Consortium (NHSDC). NHSDC understands the importance of data quality and the value of using valid and reliable data for community planning and performance measurement. NHSDC has worked for over 13 years to deliver conferences that allow Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) professionals to share ideas, current challenges, and best practices while developing a critical network of peer support.
This year the conference expanded from two days to three days. NHSDC will provide high-quality content through their normal solicitation process and, new this year, HUD will provide an additional 30 sessions on key topics and issues that are featured in the SNAPS Data TA Strategy.
As noted in the Data TA Strategy, HUD’s priorities for Continuums of Care (CoCs) and HMIS staff members are:
  1. Improved capacity of people setting up, operating, and benefiting from data systems
  2. Data systems that collect comprehensive, accurate, and timely data
  3. Continuums and stakeholders that use data to improve efforts to end homelessness
HUD strongly encourages both CoC and HMIS leaders and staff to review this strategy and integrate its vision and goals into their local work.
As in the past, this conference is HUD-approved. Therefore, HMIS funds awarded under the CoC and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Programs may be used to attend the 2019 NHSDC/HUD Spring Conference. Projects without funds designated for HMIS can use admin funds to attend this event.
