Save the Date:  Federal Partners Housing Conference

The SSVF Program Office, with the support of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the US Interagency Council on Homelessness and other federal and national partners, is pleased to announce a Save the Date for the upcoming 2019 Federal Permanent Housing Conferences. The events are targeted to SSVF Grantees, HUD-VASH representatives, and CoC Partners.
While the site locations are still being confirmed, and Grantees should not book travel at this time as locations are subject to change, we anticipate the following schedule:

•East Coast (Charlotte, NC): October 22-23, 2019
•Mid-Region (Dallas, TX): November 5-6, 2019
•West Coast (San Diego, CA): November 19-20, 2019

We will continue to provide information as registration and travel logistics come into focus. In the meantime, questions related to these events can be sent to the SSVF program's technical assistance address at ssvf@tacinc.org.

SQUARES 2.0 Establishing SSVF Eligibility

With SQUARES 2.0, SSVF Grantees have the ability to instantly establish eligibility. This should allow Grantees to enroll Veterans on the same day as they initially present, improving access to care and reducing risks to their safety and well-being. SQUARES 2.0 is an update on VA's online tool that provides reliable and detailed information about individuals' Veteran status and eligibility. Information from SQUARES can be printed out and be substituted for a DD214, enabling Grantees to enroll participants without waiting for paperwork that can delay care. For more information, go to www.va.gov/homeless/SQUARES.

SSVF Rapid Resolution Training

The SSVF Program Office has released a document intended to help SSVF Grantees identify critical training needs for successful Rapid Resolution interventions.  The program office has also released a basic self-assessment of training needs to be used along with the training guide.   Grantees are strongly encouraged to review the guidance before hiring any new training entities for your organization or community.

The Rapid Resolution Training Guidance can be found on the SSVF website using the link below:  https://www.va.gov/HOMELESS/ssvf/docs/Rapid_Resolution_Training_Guidance.pdf

The SSVF Program Office will also provide Rapid Resolution direct practice training sessions in the Fall and Winter of 2019.  This training will be targeted to Grantees who fall below certain grant size thresholds and may not otherwise have the capacity to hire or secure outside training support.  Grantees can reach out to their SSVF Regional Coordinators with questions about attending one of the VA-sponsored Rapid Resolution direct practice training sessions later this year.

Thank you,
