HUD's Office of Affordable Housing Programs (OAHP) is offering up to three additional virtual deliveries of the Building HOME training series.
The virtual deliveries of Building HOME provide an overview of the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), including the latest requirements codified in the HOME Final Rule. Through these trainings, participants become familiar with all program activities, including homeowner and homebuyer, rental housing, Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA), and Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) activities. TBRA is presented during the first half of the final Office Hour for each series to allow the final session to focus on Rental Housing.
Who Should Attend?
Building HOME Webinar Series is relevant to Participating Jurisdiction (PJ) staff, Subrecipients, and CHDOs. This webinar is limited to 500 participants and registration for this training will close 24 hours before the webinar begins.
Webinar Series Format
Each series will include 4 weekly 2-hour sessions on Wednesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM EDT followed with a 1-hour Office Hour session on Thursdays to review homework and answer questions related to that week's materials. For example, Office Hours will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 PM EDT on October 3, 2019 following the October 2, 2019 webinar.
Registration Information & Schedule
Participants are expected to attend all 4 sessions in the series. Sessions will be recorded and posted to allow registered participants who may have a scheduling conflict during a webinar session the opportunity to make-up the session. Participants must register for the series in order to be marked as complete and to qualify as the pre-requisite for future HOME certification.
Although some PJ staff may participate in a group setting, each participant will need to register individually in order to be marked as complete and to satisfy the requirement of Building HOME as a prerequisite for all HOME topical courses.
