Register Today: 2019 Federal Permanent Housing Conferences – Florida, Texas, and California
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), with the support of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) and other national partners, is pleased to open registration for the 2019 Federal Permanent Housing Conferences. These events are specifically targeted to homeless service managers, practitioners, and crisis response system planners. This is HUD-approved training. This means, while there is no registration fee for this training, the costs associated with travel and staff time to attend are approved Continuum of Care (CoC) and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program costs. However, space will be limited as discussed below.
These events will bring together housing service practitioners and planners from around the country for an intensive, 1.5 day conference focused on various topics and creative solutions to ending homelessness – please see the attached draft agenda and session learning objectives for the event to help guide who should attend.
This year, the VA is working to offer Continuing Education (CE) credits for event participants. If you are interested in obtaining CE credits from this event, please select this option during registration.
Due to space limitations, there will be a limit to the number of individual attendees per CoC. Most CoCs will be limited to up to 2 participants (including any ESG recipients or subrecipients interested in attending), while CoCs with Annual Renewal Demand (ARD) amounts over $30 million will be able to send up to 5 participants. Slots will be provided on a first come, first serve basis, and there are fewer than 125 slots per conference. Once registration opens, act fast to ensure your CoC will be represented. Supportive services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program Grantees do not contribute toward your overall CoC cap. SSVF grantees will receive their own registration information directly from the VA. It is strongly suggested that CoCs ask SSVF grantees which event they have been assigned to attend (East, Mid, or West) so that CoC participants can be with grantees at the same event, where possible, to support enhanced collaboration.
CoC and ESG recipients must coordinate and work with their Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) providers to identify whether there are programs/staff interested in attending these events.
