Alliance Statement on Former US Interagency Council on Homelessness Executive Director, Matthew Doherty


The National Alliance to End Homelessness was extremely disappointed to learn last Friday that Matthew Doherty had resigned his position as Executive Director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) under pressure from the Administration.

Over the course of his four-and-a-half-year tenure, Doherty provided exceptional leadership and strategic vision which resulted in much-improved federal approaches to the problem of homelessness.
