Let Your Ideas Thrive at CSH Summit 2020

CSH Summit 2020 takes place in Philadelphia PA this May 27, 28 and 29, and this year's theme is Thrive. You can help shape the ideas influencing the actions of over 800 national, regional, state and local leaders who come together to hear how supportive affordable housing is changing lives and our communities. Apply for the New Hampshire Institute

CSH is excited to announce its first Supportive Housing Institute in New Hampshire, which is offered free of charge to successful applicants. The 2020 Institute will help supportive housing partners learn how to navigate the complex process of developing housing with support services and reduce the time it takes to obtain funding for projects by improving the planning process. Celebrating Supportive Housing in the Bronx

La Central recently opened its doors and offers much-needed affordable and supportive housing in a mixed-use, mixed income location in the South Bronx, New York City. CSH pledged $1M in pre-development loans to our partners Breaking Ground and Comunilife for this effort because La Central beautifully integrates services with homes for vulnerable New Yorkers while meeting a larger vision for a thriving, diverse neighborhood.  

A Safe and Supportive Home 

Supportive housing developer and service provider New Destiny Housing created The Jennings, a 42-unit service-enriched affordable building, with the mission of providing the stability and support services formerly homeless and traumatized families need to regain their lives and begin a new chapter. CSH invested $3 Million in The Jennings because we value safe, stable and permanent homes for vulnerable families, including survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Resource Guide for People with IDD

With the support of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities, CSH has created a plethora of materials and products for stakeholders interested in learning about supportive housing options for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). While our resources catalog detailing this work is designed for everyone, we include information developed specifically to help people with different services needs and backgrounds. New Voices of Lived Expertise Speak Up!

Nine new voices with lived expertise just completed the CSH Speak Up! program in Los Angeles, CA. CSH has been elevating individuals and families with lived experience for years now, ensuring they become community leaders and Advocates for supportive housing across the country through our much-recognized Speak Up! program. This recent graduation marks the 7th class from the Los Angeles area. CSH has grown Speak Up! to reach participants in other parts of the country, including Illinois and Ohio.

Healthy Aging Academy Savings

Funded in part by the AARP Foundation, CSH is pleased to announce its national Healthy Aging Academy. Housing is Health Care Webinar

The National Health Care for the Homeless Council, CSH, and the National Center for Health in Public Housing are hosting Housing is Health Care: Prevalence and Considerations across the Housing Spectrum, a free webinar on November 14, 2019 at 12:00pm ET. The webinar will highlight the importance of housing as a social determinant of health by describing the health care needs and challenges of individuals experiencing homelessness, living in supportive housing, or residing in public housing.
