Fuel Fund's Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

Dear Friends:

Like so many others, Fuel Fund of Maryland is closely monitoring the fast-moving developments of coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are taking prudent steps to continue our important work of providing financial assistance to our vulnerable neighbors facing a utility crisis* in central Maryland while protecting the well-being of staff and visitors to our office. We will monitor changing conditions and adjust our protocols or approach depending on facts.

We are adhering to the CDC guidelines as well as Governor Hogan's guidance on keeping social distance to combat the spread of the virus.  As a result:

Our offices are closed, and staff are working remotely, Monday - Friday (8AM – 4PM)

*We are very encouraged to be informed that BGE is suspending service disconnections and waiving new late payment fees for ALL customers through at least May 1.  BGE will be working with customers on a case-by-case basis to establish payment arrangements and identify energy assistance options, such as the Fuel Fund.

However, many vulnerable households who utilize fuel oil from individual vendors may still be facing situations where immediate assistance is needed - particularly considering coronavirus-related financial issues. The Fuel Fund of Maryland will continue making these households a priority. You can support these efforts by clicking on the donation link below.

Please know that the Fuel Fund of Maryland will continue to make decisions in the best interest of those we serve.

Thank you, everyone!  We will get through this.

In the meantime, take good care of yourself and your family, friends and neighbors.   And stay in touch.  We are here!

With gratitude,

The Fuel Fund of Maryland Staff
