HUD's HDX Now Open for CoCs to Submit 2020 HIC and PIT Count Data
HUD’s Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX) web portal is now open for Continuums of Care (CoCs) to submit their 2020 Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and Point-in-Time (PIT) count data.

As of March 9, 2020, CoCs can create 2020 HIC reports by copying/editing data from the prior year or by manually entering data. The PIT module is fully functional. However, the upload functionality for the HIC (uploading the 5 CSV files formatted consistent with the FY 2020 CSV Specifications) will be available within the next several days.

2020 HIC and PIT count data must be submitted via the HDX by Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 8:00 PM EDT.

Meeting the data submission deadline for the HIC and PIT count is a factor considered by HUD in the annual CoC Program Competition. CoCs should consider the amount of time it may take to update user access, compile and enter the information needed to meet the 2020 reporting requirements. HUD does not anticipate granting extensions to the data submission deadlines.

These reports will be submitted through the original HDX “1.0.” Ensure you are visiting the correct site to update any credentials. Only the CoC’s Primary HDX User can add users and set appropriate permissions. Do not wait until the last minute to make sure your CoC and users are prepared for the deadline.
