Maryland Emergency Management Agency: COVID-19 Financial Assistance Opportunities

As we all come to grips with the health crisis currently impacting our neighbors around the state, the country and the world, we want to ensure you are aware of some programs to financially assist your organization in meeting its obligations to staff, clients and the community as a whole.

A Grants Portal to Request Public Assistance reimbursement has been established by the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). Grants Portal is the gateway for Public Assistance reimbursement and Private Nonprofits (PNPs) seeking Public Assistance reimbursement must do so through Grants Portal. Grants Portal for the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration is accepting applications until Sunday, April 12, 2020, so we recommend you review as soon as possible. Forms to request access to grants is available at:

In addition, the U.S. Small Business Administration has made available through the Economic Injury Disasters Loans (EIDLs) low interest loans. Non-profit organizations of all sizes may inquire about EIDLs to meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the Maryland Declaration 16376 (Disaster MD-00041) due to the CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) disaster. These loans are intended to assist your organization through the disaster recovery period. If you have any questions or if you need any assistance in navigating the EIDLs process you may contact the Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email
disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. Individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing may call (800) 877-8339.
