(NAEH) A Resource for CoC Leads: Introducing the COVID-19 Learning Series

New: The COVID-19 Online Learning Series

Dear Colleague,

The National Alliance to End Homelessness and the National Health Care for the Homeless Council have developed the COVID-19 Online Learning Series. This online course curriculum is designed to provide training and materials to aid in community responses to COVID-19 among people experiencing homelessness, and can support broader CoC homeless response.

The COVID-19 Online Learning Series offers training and support to new and existing staff in their efforts to:
  • keep both themselves and those they serve safe from acquiring and transmitting the disease, and
  • rapidly re-house and connect individuals experiencing homelessness with the care and services they need.

The Learning Series gives users flexibility to complete courses as their schedules allow. The platform is on a mobile-friendly, cloud-based platform. Some of the issues these courses will address include:
  • What does existing guidance say about homelessness and COVID-19?
  • What does harm reduction look like in the COVID-19 era?
  • How do we practice trauma informed care right now?
  • How do we need to change case management?
  • How do we continue our work with cultural humility?

These COVID-19 Online Learning Series courses are available free of charge for the first 2,500 users, courtesy of the Kaiser Permanente National Community Benefit Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation. Once 2,500 spaces have been filled, these courses will remain available at a fee.

We encourage you to share this resource with those in your community.
