Register Today: National Homeownership Month 2020: Social Distancing and Its Effect on the Housing Industry
On June 23, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM EDT, as part of National Homeownership Month 2020, the Office of Housing Counseling is hosting a panel discussion on social distancing and its effect on the housing industry. Don’t miss this virtual discussion to explore the innovative concepts the industry is using to meet the challenges and demands posed in this current environment.

Each sector of the housing industry will participate on the panel including representatives from housing counseling, real estate, lending, and title companies. This discussion will showcase respected individuals in their fields and provide thought-provoking and insightful conversations about social distancing – all with a keen focus on the current and future state of the housing industry.


Panelists:

  • Lending: Kathy Cummings, Senior Vice President, Homeownership Solutions and Strategic Relationships, Bank of America
  • Real Estate: Mabél Guzmán, Broker, @properties in Chicago and 2020 Vice President, Association Affairs, National Association of REALTORS®
  • Housing Counseling: Dan Ellis, Executive Director, Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore, Inc. (NHS)
  • Title Company: Diane Tomb, CEO, American Land Title Association
HUD Secretary Ben Carson will provide opening remarks. HUD Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery will discuss HUD’s role in helping homeowners in this environment. Acting Assistant Secretary for Housing – Federal Housing Commissioner Len Wolfson will introduce himself to housing counselors and other industry stakeholders. Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Housing Counseling Danberry Carmon will serve as Emcee and provide introductions.
