As part of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's Statewide Housing Needs Assessment and 10-year Strategic Plan, we invite you to participate in one or both of the below mentioned focus groups via teleconference.
The Housing Needs Assessment will be a data-driven picture of the housing needs facing Marylanders over the next 10 years. It will include a menu of recommendations, including new tools at the state and local levels to better serve Marylanders.
About the Focus Group
The Housing Needs Assessment and 10-Year Strategic Plan aims to incorporate perspectives from across the state. An important component is to speak directly with organizations and institutions that are actively involved in the State's rental market and program delivery, through a series of focus groups. Each focus group is a one-time commitment of about 60 minutes.
Focus Group 2: Risks to Vulnerable Populations (including but not limited to seniors, new immigrants, persons with disabilities and returning citizens). This focus group aims to understand what challenges or risks affect renters in the State, what populations are most affected, and your experience with state and local rental programs. Through the focus group, we also want to understand the best ways to support renters in Maryland.
Focus Group 3: Rental Housing for Residents Experiencing Homelessness. This focus group aims to understand what challenges or risks affect renters in the state who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, what populations are most affected, and your experience with state and local rental programs. Through the focus group we also want to understand the best ways to support residents experiencing homelessness in Maryland.
The focus groups will be conducted by Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., which is assisting the National Center for Smart Growth in completing this assessment for DHCD.
