To my WellSky Client Family,

This time of year is filled not only with good cheer, but with selfless service as we try to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deal with all the uncertainty around how to best serve clients experiencing homelessness in the midst of the pandemic. During this time, we hope that you will remember to find time for yourself and for your family. Celebrate all there is to be thankful for and please stay safe!

A little about me
I have been working in the homelessness field since 2008 and joined WellSky (then Bowman) in 2012. I collect all things flamingo and I am working on beating the World Record for the largest flamingo collection! Of course as most of you know, when I'm not thinking about family and Thanksgiving, I'm thinking about compliance and data quality.

The importance of data
Data quality is not just a "when we need to submit" requirement. It's an all-the-time, year-round commitment to providing the most accurate information about clients and providers. I encourage quarterly data quality checks on both provider level data quality and client level data quality. Working with HUD and the federal partners is like a working with a moving target. We stay on focus for the original target and then it moves just a little and we have to refocus.

How WellSky can help
Community Services has two newly released tools to assist in assuring that your data is up to date and accurate for all your reporting needs. The Data Quality Framework is now available as a Provider Report for real time feedback on client level data quality. Remember to run it for both individual providers and for the entire CoC. The REQ102 Project Descriptors Data Element DQ Sheet is available in Qlik Sense and gives you information about all the required HUD Standards fields. It also has an LSA specific filter to assist with your LSA preparations.

One final thought
Ending Homelessness is more than an ideal. It's an achievable goal and helping communities measure progress towards that goal keeps me going each and every day. I am thankful to work with such a wonderful community. Happy Thanksgiving!
