TODAY: Deadline for Official 2019 and 2020 LSA Data Submissions

The deadline for submitting official Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA) data for use in the 2019 and 2020 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress via the Homelessness Data Exchange, Version 2.0 (HDX 2.0) is today, Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST. Note: If your community received an extension via the AAQ please reference the date in the response as your deadline.

If communities require additional time, please submit a request through the HUD Exchange Ask A Question (AAQ) portal today, January 15, 2021 by 12:00 PM PST. Select “HDX: Homelessness Data Exchange (including AHAR, HIC, LSA, PDX, PIT, Stella, Sys PM)” from the “My question is related to” dropdown list on Step 2 of the AAQ question submission process.

Before you submit your uploads for review, make sure:

  • Your upload is marked as 'Official HUD Review File', not 'Local Use Zip File'.
     
  • You have addressed as many warnings or errors flagged by your Data Liaison as possible by either leaving a note in the Errors/Warnings file or fixing data quality issues in your HMIS and then re-uploading a new file. Note: Only Warnings can be resolved by providing a note. Errors require updates be made to the data in HMIS.
     
  • You have reviewed your summary tables in the HDX 2.0 and believe that the data there are an accurate representation of your community.

In order to meet the final deadline for the LSA submission process, communities must select the 'Submit for Review' button on each reporting year. The final round of data quality checks will be run on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Once final data are submitted, your Data Liaison will mark the dataset as 'Complete'. For communities that upload a new file and/or notes between January 13-15, 2021, the final Errors/Warnings file will be uploaded into the HDX 2.0 by Friday, January 22, 2021.

Communities will receive an automatic notification once the file is made available. Communities must confirm the final dataset (through selecting 'Confirmed' under submission status) within 3 business days of their final Errors/Warnings file being made available.
