2021 Point-in-Time Count Data Released

HUD recently released the 2021 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress. The 2021 AHAR data, which is focused exclusively on sheltered populations, suggests that COVID-19 federal relief resources, combined with the tireless efforts of homelessness providers and systems, have been critical to reducing sheltered homelessness in the United States during the pandemic.

HUD Updates ESG-CV Expenditure Deadlines

Due to the difficulty of the pandemic, HUD announced that it will not recapture ESG-CV funds from recipients who do not meet certain spending deadlines. The department is currently considering whether another expenditure deadline will be established.
