COVID-19 Resource Digest for Homeless Providers – March 8, 2022

The emergence of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) calls for enhanced cooperation between public health authorities, homeless service systems, and other partners at the local level. To support these partnerships and the vulnerable households served, HUD and its partners are issuing guidance from subject matter experts on best practices and lessons learned.

This digest contains recently published resources from HUD's Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS) and its national, state, and local partners.

Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit – March 9, 2022 – 2:00 PM EST

With just over one month left until the tax filing deadline of April 18, 2022, join HUD, Treasury, and the White House for a webinar on the CTC and EITC.

This training will give a demonstration of childtaxcredit.gov and getyourrefund.org, both free IRS-certified tax filing resources, and explain how to connect with IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program centers. The presentation will also cover HUD-specific resources for CTC and EITC promotion, and research on how the CTC has benefitted HUD-assisted families.

State and Local Partnerships for Housing Stability – March 15, 2022 – 2:30 PM EDT

States and communities have created cross-sector partnerships that improve housing stability by connecting people to housing and making it easier to obtain supportive services. Presenters from housing, home- and community-based services, and health services will feature their successful approaches. After a showcase of innovative collaborations that braid funding for housing and services, webinar participants will have ample time to ask questions.

  • HUD is also available to provide technical assistance to our homeless assistance providers who need support in preventing or responding to the spread of infectious disease.
