HUD RELEASES PART 1 OF THE 2021 AHAR
Earlier this month the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released the 2021 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report to Congress (AHAR): Part 1. The report outlines key findings of the Point-In-Time (PIT) and Housing Inventory Counts (HIC) conducted in January 2021.

Specifically, it provides national, state, and CoC-level PIT and HIC estimates of sheltered homelessness for 2021. It also included estimates of chronically homeless, homeless veterans, and homeless children and youth.

Unlike previous reports, the 2021 AHAR focuses on people experiencing sheltered homelessness due to pandemic-related disruptions to counts of unsheltered homeless people in January 2021.
